Emergency Personnel

Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue is a combination department of career and volunteer staff. Career personnel are cross trained so that all line employees are firefighters as well as emergency responders. 75-80% of our calls for service are medical situations. The breakdown of personnel is as follows:

 Career Line Personnel:
16 - EMT-P
12 - EMTs
  3 - EMTs Administrative Staff

 Volunteer Personnel:
45 - EMTs
  3 - First Responders
  1 - EMT-P

C2FR is very proud of the fact that many of our volunteers work regular shifts with the career line staff (Shift Volunteer Program) and are indistinguishable from career staff in appearance, skill level or professionalism. Certification requirements are the same for these two groups of C2FR personnel.
