Maintenance for the Fire Service

With the expansion of our shop, Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue has taken on service and repair work for other fire departments in Cowlitz and Wahkiakum Counties. This service is available to any fire department for its apparatus at the present shop rate of $55.00 per hour for labor, plus the cost of parts.

Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue uses a maintenance schedule of 300 hours, 3000 miles or 12 months. This means a vehicle comes in for service every 300 hours or 3000 miles. If a piece of apparatus does not go 300 hours or 3000 miles in a 12 month period, then it still comes into the shop for service once a year. This follows the manufactures recommendations. We can tailor service intervals to meet your department needs. We also use oil analysis to help determine the right maintenance schedule for the apparatus. Listed below are the checklists that we use in our services to keep the apparatus in readiness for emergency response.
