Fire Prevention & Education
|
Brandi Ballinger is in charge of the Fire Prevention Public Education Program for
Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue. We play an active role in our
community utilizing our public education program. On a monthly basis, we are
providing fire extinguisher trainings and demonstrations to local
businesses, as well as giving station tours to children while providing fun,
exciting fire prevention safety messages. We also record radio PSA's,
partner with SAFE KIDS Lower Columbia
and the Cowlitz County Child Passenger Safety TEAM to offer
free car seat
clinics at various locations in Cowlitz County, as well as providing and
fitting bike helmets for children and teenagers for little or no cost to
them. For more information on any of these programs, contact
Brandi Ballinger by email or
by phone at

Seasonal Safety Topics |
Annual
Events:
Every year
we participate in numerous events to promote fire safety messages. Some of
these events include the Cowlitz County Home & Garden Show, Cowlitz County
Fair, Fire Prevention Week (station tours and
open house), Memorial
Procession, SAFE KIDS Day (in the Spring
and Fall), Kelso Bridge Market and National
Night Out (in Kelso). We tailor our safety messages to fit the age group and
theme of the event. Some of the safety messages include: stop, drop and roll;
stay low and go; exit drills in the home (EDITH); 9-1-1;
smoke alarm
maintenance and installation; smoke alarms save lives; general first aid
information; and kitchen safety.
If your
organization, business or school is interested in any of the classes, presentations or
a fire station tour, please contact Brandi
Ballinger at
360.575.6280 for further details or to set up an appointment. |
